Senator Edward M. Kennedy -
Senator Edward M. Kennedy has represented Massachusetts in the United States Senate for thirty-seven years, and is now the third most senior member of the Senate.
Senator Kennedy's efforts include the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, which makes it easier for those who change their job or lose their job to keep their health insurance, and the Children's Health Act of 1997, which makes health insurance far more widely available to children through age 18 in all 50 states. Kennedy is currently a leader in the Senate in the effort to enact the Patients' Bill of Rights.

Dr. David Satcher -
Dr. David Satcher was the 16th Surgeon General of the United States. He was sworn in on February 13, 1998, and served a 4-year term. Dr. Satcher served simultaneously in the positions of Surgeon General and Assistant Secretary for Health from February 1998 through January 2001. Dr. Satcher currently is a fellow at the Kaiser Family Foundation. In the fall of 2002, he will assume the post of director of the National Center for Primary Care at the Morehouse School of Medicine.

Henrie M. Treadwell, Ph.D., Director of Community Voices -
Dr. Treadwell is a senior scientist at the National Center for Primary Care at Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr.Treadwell is a former program director at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. She spearheads the national program office that supports the Community Voices initiative, funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Her major responsibilities include program design, oversight and administration of strategic initiatives to improve access to health coverage and services. Dr. Treadwell’s distinguished career has included chairing the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Morris Brown College, a historically black college and university. She is recipient of numerous fellowships and awards and is a published author of numerous monographs and peer-reviewed articles.
