The Community Voices site in North Carolina does not have a Men's Health Initiative program. However, it is becoming more active and proactive in promoting Men's Health. FirstHealth of the Carolinas in partnership with the Southern Pines Men’s Service Club, the Trinity Zion Men’s Council, and the Town of Dobbins Heights to host two Men’s Health Fairs in celebration of Men’s Health Week.
The Southern Pines Men's Health Fair will be held on Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Southern Pines Primary School, 250 W. New York Avenue.
They will provide free blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar screenings to men, as well as health information on various men’s health topics.
The Sandhills Chapter of AACA plans to display classic and antique cars. Men 18 and older will engage in a 3-on-3 basketball free-play in the gymnasium..
The Dobbins Heights Men’s Health Fair will be held on Saturday, June 18 from 8 a.m. – Noon at the Park in Dobbins Heights on Earle Franklin Drive.
There will be free blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar screenings offered to men ages 18 and older. Health information will be available on various men’s health topics.
There will be 3-on-3 basketball games.
All screening participants will be eligible for prize drawings. Take an active role in your health, join us for this celebratory event and learn your numbers.
